Tools and Technologies for Online Teaching and Learning

Content is an essential ingredient in online teaching and the key issue is the digitisation of available content to make accessible through the internet. The phrase “content is king” is aptly applied to online learning and emphasis is on how content can enhance understanding, how content encouraged learners’ engagement and how content adds value to courses delivered. Various instructional design models for online learning such as the ADDIE model and others are examined. Content design and development that subscribes to the adage ‘Everything should be made simple, but not simpler’.
